Amnesty

Lindsey Graham has a history of not just supporting amnesty for illegal aliens, he is one of the leaders of the movement. He was a member of the famous “gang of eight” who almost accomplished passing a disastrous amnesty bill. Supporting those who break our immigration laws is an issue he has been consistent on.

I am against “blanket amnesty” and was the leader on our Town Council who convinced our Police Chief to sign up for the 287(g) program. In my opinion, joining this program is a “no-brainer” once you read the paperwork. The program allows local municipalities to assist with immigration enforcement, but only when they choose to assist. Those in the country illegally who have criminal records should be deported. There may be cases where productive citizens from other countries are allowed to become citizens of this country. However, in most cases, I believe citizens of other countries should return to their home countries.

Immigration is an issue where there is a significant difference between the incumbent and me.
